Pear and Fennel Salad

For those of you who know me or my immediate family you know that we aren't very "adventurous" in trying new things.  I saw this recipe and since I love pears and have been trying to eat more salads I decided to try it.  This was my first time tasting fennel I actually made my pieces very tiny because I was a little nervous about the "licorice" taste that fennel is known for and I actually didnt even know what it looked like so if you are unfamiliar I have added a pic below.  But I loved this salad it was soooo yummy!!! Thanks Mayo Clinic!!!
